Story.

Ahmad Shah Mohibi was born and raised in Afghanistan during one of the most turbulent periods in the country's history. Growing up amid conflict, he learned early that survival demanded courage, adaptability, and a commitment to something larger than himself.

At 16 years old, Shah began serving alongside U.S. forces. That experience shaped his understanding of leadership under pressure, cross-cultural cooperation, and the human cost of conflict. His service led to a Special Immigrant Visa to the United States, where he rebuilt his life and continued his path in public service.

In the United States, Shah worked through government and advisory roles connected to counterterrorism, national security, and foreign policy. He later founded Kokcha Advisory, focused on geopolitical risk, leadership development, and crisis management for organizations operating in complex environments.

As President and CEO of Rise to Peace, Shah has trained more than 600 leaders across 34 countries. His work connects frontline experience with practical training, research, and strategic conversations.

Shah has appeared on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, Al Jazeera, CGTN, and TRT World, and has spoken with audiences in government, business, universities, and international forums.

His memoir, WarGuy, shares the lessons of a life shaped by war, immigration, service, and public work. He also hosts the WarGuy Podcast, where he speaks with leaders, policymakers, and practitioners about conflict, strategy, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

Shah holds a Master's degree from George Washington University and a Bachelor's degree from George Mason University. He is also the founder of the Mohibi Foundation, which supports education, clean water, and community development projects.

Today, Shah's work sits between lived experience and public conversation — between Afghanistan and the United States, between conflict and peace, and between the decisions made in policy rooms and the people affected by them.
